American sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson has apologized for testing positive for marijuana. She explained that she used marijuana to help her cope with the death of her biological mother. Nevertheless, Richardson has been banned from competing in the 100M at the Olympics in Tokyo.

Actor, comedian, and philanthropist Bill Cosby, will be released from prison. The Pennsylvania appeals court overturned his conviction for sexual assault, ruling that Mr. Cosby had been denied a fair trial in 2018.

Lake Lanier, which was Oscarville, GA, and located in Forsyth County, GA, was a predominately thriving Black community that had schools, and churches. In 1912, 2 Black teenagers were accused of rape. The boys were tried, convicted, sentenced to death, and executed. An angry mob of White men terrorized, drove out, and killed the remaining Black residents of Oscarville. In the 1920s, the town was deserted and town into a man-made lake. Oscarville is one of many examples of how Amerikkka has erased Black towns from existence.

On Monday, Raiders defensive lineman Carl Nassib came out as gay. It has been reported that Nassib is the first active player in the league to publicly identify as gay. However, in 2014, the St. Louis Rams drafted Michael Sam, and he openly came out as gay. Nassib has received support from the league and commissioner Roger Goodell but Sam wasn't afforded these same benefits. Not to mention, as of yesterday Nassib had the highest selling jersey in the NFL.
