‘The Wire‘ Actor Michael K. Williams Passes Away

On yesterday afternoon, the actor Michael K. Williams was found dead in his Brooklyn penthouse. According to reports in the New York Post, Williams was found dead of a suspected heroine overdose. Williams is best known for portraying the character Omar Little, on the hit HBO show 'The Wire', Chalky White on the hit HBO show 'Boardwalk Empire', and Montrose Freeman on 'Lovecraft Country.'

Our Young People Should be Commended, Not Criticized

A few days ago, I was at the post office and I heard an elderly man tell one of the clerks that he's retired and all he does now is sit on his behind and watch TV all day. He continued to say, how he's paid his dues and he deserves to be lazy. Then he said, that young people these days are lazy, and refuse to work hard for anything. I found this statement to be problematic, yet interesting.

The Taliban Takes Control of the Afghan Capital

The Taliban has claimed they have declared Afghanistan, the "Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan." A senior of the Taliban declared on Sunday that the movement's swift victory over the Afghan government was an unrivaled feat but that the real test of governing effectively would begin now that it had power, according to an article in The Guardian. Many are referring to this chaos in Afghanistan as Biden's "fall of Saigon."

7.2 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Haiti, While Bracing for Grace

A 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck the Sud region of southern Haiti around 8:30AM on Saturday. As of today, Sunday, the death toll had climbed to over 700 people, however that number is expected to keep rising. According to The Associated Press, at least 2,800 others were likely injured due to the crumbling of buildings. If things couldn't get worse for Haiti, Tropical Storm Grace is scheduled to arrive into the country on Monday.

Andrew Cuomo and the Dissension Among Democrats

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is being pressured to resign his governorship. Gov. Cuomo is being investigated by the DAs in Manhattan, Nassau, and Westchester counties regarding Mr. Cuomo having sexually harassed 11 women, some of them current and former staff members, including his groping and unwanted touching of employees. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Joe Biden have called for Cuomo's resignation.

Da Baby is Reduced to a Cry Baby

Rapper Da Baby, is coming under fire for making homophobic remarks after an event last month in Miami. Da Baby has been dropped from events in New York and Las Vegas, and his performance at last weekend's Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago was also canceled. Since this has occurred, Da Baby has been on his knees apologizing non stop. This is yet another sad example of how the Black man is buck broken for offending other communities.

Barack Obama Failed Foundational Black Americans

Today is former President Barack Obama's 60th birthday. In honor of his birthday, I'm going to tell the TRUTH about how Obama didn't do anything for Foundational Black Americans. The wealth gap between Blacks and Whites didn't close (it actually widened) and Black people were being slaughtered in the streets all across America by the police. Also, the massacre at the Emanuel AME Church occurred in Charleston, SC. Despite these incidents, not a single hate crime bill against Black people was proposed.

Black People Must Realize that They Have No Allies

The same people that refuse to pay reparations to Foundational Black Americans, let alone have the conversation about reparations, remain silent about Black children being gunned down in the streets of cities across this country on a daily basis, are the very ones telling us that we need to get this jab in the arm. I'm not buying that these people care about the welfare of the Black community. They don't have our best interests at heart and aren't our allies. Black people don't have any allies.

Amanda Seales Has an Issue With the Richard Williams Biopic

Comedian Amanda Seales seems to have an issue with Will Smith portraying Richard Williams (father of Venus and Serena Williams) in a biopic that's premiering in November. Seales seems to enjoy being critical of Black men, particularly strong Black men. People like her are enemies to the Black community and are the worst White supremacists than the KKK and Neo-Nazis could ever be.

Simon Biles and Naomi Osaka Make Mental Health a Priority

Simon Biles and Naomi Osaka are examples of how there's a high price to pay to be the best in the world at anything. The ability to enjoy almost anything else in life is taken away, because all of your time is invested in your craft. This is a huge sacrifice that many aren't able to handle.
